Symptoms
There
are certain signs or symptoms usually associated with HIV/AIDS.
But, the only sure way to determine if a person is infected
is through testing
Some
of the signs or symptoms associated with HIV/AIDS could be
related to other diseases. In addition, an infected person
might not show signs for many years.
Since,
HIV attacks the immune system, the body’s protection against
disease, an HIV infected person cannot fight infections. A
doctor might be able to determine if a person has AIDS, if
the infected person develops illnesses associated with HIV/AIDS.
But, the only sure way this can be determined is by testing
the person.
Some
of the associated signs or symptoms include:
Rapid weight loss
Profuse night sweats
Continuous and extreme tiredness
Swollen glands
Diarrhea for longer than a week
White spots or blemishes around the mouth and throat areas
Bumps or rashes in skin
Constant cough
Frequent unexplainable fever
Pneumonia.
Some
HIV infected women might experience severe yeast infections.
Remember,
these are signs or symptoms that might be associated with
other diseases. The best way to determine if a person is infected
with the HIV virus or AIDS disease is to undergo testing.
