Short-term effects

Common side effects of OxyContin® abuse are constipation, nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, lack of interest, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, sweating, and weakness.

In the short term, heroin can cause:

One-to-two minute “rush.”

Warm flushing of the skin.

Dry mouth.

Heavy feeling in arms and legs.

Nausea.

Vomiting.

Severe itching.

Drowsiness and confusion for up to six hours.

Slowed heart rate.
