Short Term Effects

Common side effects of OxyContin® abuse are constipation, nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, lack of interest, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, sweating, and weakness.

In the short term, OxyContin® can cause:

  • Warm flushing of the skin.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Heavy feeling in arms and legs.
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Severe itching.
  • Drowsiness and confusion for up to six hours.
  • Slowed heart rate.
  • Slowed breathing rate.
